The jack-of-all trades for your wedding day, and likely the girl that will be gushing over your big day just as much as you are.
Ashlee & Chad’s whimsical and intimate farm wedding at Blue Hill Farm in Virginia was an absolute dream! This sweet couple embraced every moment of their special day with open arms, even when the weather tried to throw them a curveball. Despite the rain in the forecast, Ashlee’s positive attitude and flexibility shone through, and she and Chad ended up dancing in the rain during their reception – how romantic is that?
One of the most memorable moments from Ashlee and Chad’s wedding day was the unexpected forecast of rain. Many brides would have been stressed to the max, but not Ashlee. She embodied grace and flexibility, adapting her vision for an open-air ceremony without missing a beat. We exchanged texts, brainstorming game plans for the photos, and the couple arranged a beautiful clear tent for the ceremony area.
Ahead of the ceremony the couple had a first look and exchanged private vows, and it was so beautiful! Doing a first look allowed us to get some extra photos of just the two of them, and just enjoy each other’s presence. It also allowed them to get really vulnerable with each other and their feelings, exchanging the vows, because you don’t always want to do it in front of a crowd, right? (P.S. – if you choose to NOT have a first look, that’s totally okay and valid!)
Despite the ominous clouds, the rain held off until the reception! During the planning process, Ashlee and Chad emphasized the importance of not being rushed, enjoying each moment together, and leaning into authentic experiences. And I believe we managed to achieve exactly that! Ashlee and Chad really embraced the moment, and when it did start raining – they went out and danced in the rain!
Ashlee is a designer and loved all the details- she pulled all the stops out for the flat lay photos and all the details were perfect! She told me – “I want the whole day to feel like a crisp fall morning, light and fresh and airy” and that vision came to life beautifully! The whimsical vibes really came through in the details – florals, dress, the cake, the seating chart and table décor! It was so beautiful and fit their intimate farm wedding vibe perfectly.
